The Energy Policy Act of 2005 was introduced in the House of Representatives on April 18, 2005 after being voted on and passed by the Committee on Energy and Commerce by a 39-16 vote. This anti-consumer, anti-environment and backward-looking bill threatens our communities and the environment. Policies favoring nuclear power, big oil and coal take precedence over a solid plan to foster the development of renewable energy, to advocate conservation and efficiency, and to support more democratic power production in local communities. On April 21, 2005, the bill passed the House by a vote of 249-183, and on April 26, 2005, it was received by the Senate. What will the Energy Policy Act of 2005 do?
