Honor the Earth: Initiatives: Energy Justice: Climate Change: Resources: Honor the Earth's Kyoto Sign-on Campaign for Tribal Nations

Tribes have a unique opportunity to become leaders in a new energy economy. Honor the Earth is asking tribal governments to volunteer to meet the standards set by the Kyoto Protocol and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and global climate change through tribal policy. Over 218 mayors in 39 states have signed onto Kyoto committing to reducing their carbon footprint and at least 18 states have signed onto renewable energy portfolios, pledging to source a percent of their energy demand with renewables. Please contact Honor the Earth at 612-879-7529 or info@honorearth.org with any questions.
