This piece depicts a contemporary Indian woman who is expressing her resistance to dumping nuclear waste from back east in the Great Basin area, which is a sacred land area for the Western Shoshone. On the rocks behind the woman, there are writings where the Indian doctors
did their healing and their fasting and left it there. As well the medicine
man was here. He collected his medicine. Everywhere you look there is medicine
all over the valley, all over the mountain.
