Honor the Earth: Impacted Nations: a traveling art show: Artists: Cameron Chino

Cameron Chino, Quechan/Pima/Mohave
Mr. Chino started drawing seriously in his junior year in high school in Winterhaven , California . In 1995, he started studying at the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe , New Mexico , but moved to Los Angeles in 1997, where his artwork began to take shape. He started painting in oils and began to experiment with and hone his technique in the contrast of light and dark, using his favorite media, charcoal. In 1998, Mr. Chino returned to IAIA to finish his Associate Degree. In 1999, he attended the Art Institute of Phoenix where he expanded his study to create digital artwork. Mr. Chino graduated from the Art Institute in 2002 and he currently resides in Chandler , Arizona , with his wife and child.
