Akwesasne Task Force on the Environment
Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation, New York
The Task Force is a community-based organization working to address toxic waste contamination of the Mohawk environment. General Motors has refused to remediate a polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) super fund site, which borders the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation. The Mohawk people seek a clean up of this and other sites.

First Environment Project
Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation, New York
This grassroots Mohawk group is working to pressure the Environmental Protection Agency and General Motors to clean up a polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) super fund site adjacent to their lands. The Project's philosophy that "Women Are The First Environment" guides their community work in conducting studies and increasing women's awareness of the health threats posed by PCBs.

Flying Eagle Woman Fund

This foundation was created to commemorate and further the work of Ingrid Washinawatok El-Issa (1957-1999) to strengthen the sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples by maintaining and reinforcing self-reliance, traditional cultures and ways of life. Ingrid, a member of the Menominee Nation, was among the most prominent Native American leaders of her generation.

Indigenous Networking Permaculture Center
Ithaca, New York
The Center seeks to recover and record traditional knowledge of agricultural production and practices while working to preserve the genetic material of Iroquois native crops, which is key to world biodiversity.

Indigenous Revitalization School
Lawtons, New York
Established for the revitalization of the Indigenous Ogwe'o: weh worldview with a focus on the Seneca language. Under the guidance of traditionally-versed elders whose first language is Seneca, families are nurtured and immersed in language instruction. The Gano: nyok (Thanksgiving Speech) is the basis for all learning and is an intricate part of every day life in Seneca communities.
